Starline Brass - 458 Socom (50PK)
Starline Brass .458 SOCOM Brass 50 Pack
The .458 SOCOM was developed to provide the AR-15 platform with a powerful large-calibre cartridge capable of delivering outstanding performance at close to moderate ranges. Featuring a rebated rim based on the .308 Winchester bolt face and necked to accept .458" diameter projectiles, it offers tremendous energy while allowing shooters to retain the familiar handling characteristics of the AR-15. It has also been chambered in a small number of bolt-action rifles, although its greatest popularity remains within the AR platform.
Designed for heavy hunting, tactical, and recreational applications, the .458 SOCOM is capable of firing a wide range of bullet weights, including heavy subsonic projectiles for suppressed use. Starline manufactures this brass to the original U.S. design specifications for use with correctly dimensioned U.S.-manufactured .458 SOCOM firearms, dies, and ammunition, rather than the differing CIP specification.
At Hamilton’s Armoury, we back Starline Brass because it’s built with the same mindset we apply to everything we do — no shortcuts. With over 30 years of dedication to quality, Starline continues to produce premium brass for those who take their shooting seriously.
Note: Starline .458 SOCOM brass is designed for Large Pistol primers, which are specified in most published load data. While some data references Large Rifle primers, these should only be used after deepening the primer pocket to approximately 0.125"–0.132". Seating Large Rifle primers in an unmodified Large Pistol primer pocket may result in high primers, increasing the risk of chambering issues or slam fires.
Warning: Firearms fitted with floating firing pins, including the AR-15 platform and its variants, should always be loaded from the magazine rather than by dropping the bolt on a chambered round. This reduces the risk of a slam fire by allowing the bolt to lose inertia as it strips a cartridge from the magazine. Starline also recommends using primers specifically designed for AR-style rifles where appropriate, as more sensitive primers may increase the likelihood of a slam fire.
